Msgr. Thomas Groenewold was especially loved by many in St. Agnes Parish and his passing in March touched the lives of many parishioners at St. Agnes. In his memory, a group of parishioners have donated a crucifix for the Parish Center. It is unique in that it is an "icon" cross, which means that the figure of Christ (and in this case the auxiliary figures) are painted.

The original San Damiano Cross was the cross through which Saint Francis of Assisi received his commission from Christ: "Rebuild my Church." More information on the original cross may be found at St. Agnes Parish website.

The cross in memory of Father Tom was blessed and dedicated at an evening Prayer Service on Thursday, November 13th, at 7:30 p.m. in the Parish Center.

St. Agnes Council will be getting a new Seminarian! You can learn about the Seminarian, and get a complete Vocations report, by clicking here (hint: he was named after the Patron Saint of parish priests)

It's never too early to plan for the Christmas season. In fact, it's not too early to plan for next year! St. Agnes Council is planning for a trip to the world famous Radio City Christmas Spectacular in 2009. More to come.

On Sunday, December 7th, there will be a Communion Breakfast following the 9:30 a.m. Mass. The breakfast will be held at St. Agnes Cathedral Parish Center immediately following the Mass. The breakfast will be honoring all men and women who have served or are currently serving in our Armed Forces. Our guest speaker will be Navy veteran Fr. John McCarthy. Reservations must be made in advance by calling either Grand Knight Ed Lambert (766-1505) or Deputy Grand Knight Jim Garvey (536-4301). The cost will be $20 per person. This breakfast is being sponsored by St. Agnes Council Knights of Columbus and all members of the parish are welcome.

Our Seminarian, Fr. Gonzalo Lopez, celebrated his first Mass, and St. Agnes Council was there.
